How to make Sweet and Sour Chicken:
Whenever you start making a good Sweet and Sour Chicken recipe you just need a few tips, such as:
- You’ve to keep the breading super crispy and light. We usually prefer cornstarch for ease of use, but you don’t need something doughy that will absorb all the sauce like a sponge.
- Secondly, make sure that you’re using good pineapple chunks. We usually recommend a super sweet fresh pineapple or the frozen chunks you get at Costco.
- Lastly don’t skip the onions, because the onions and the bell peppers always play an important role in balancing the flavors of the dish. Without the onions, you would have a fully sweet entree with just a sour punch from the pineapple.

Method of Sweet and Sour Chicken Chinese Food:
Step #1
First of all, you’ve to cut the chicken into bite-sized chunks and then season with salt and pepper. And then preheat the oven to 325ºF.
Step #2
After that, put the cornstarch in a shallow bowl and then put the eggs in a simple separate bowl. Now just place the oil in a large size skillet and heat over medium-high heat. Working in batches, dredge all the chicken in the cornstarch, and then dip in the three eggs.
Step #3
After that, you have to add the hot oil to it and brown on all its sides. Keep in mind that, you do not need to cook your chicken through; you need to just brown the outside to get a very crispy exterior. Transfer this chicken to a 9×13-inch best baking dish and continue the same procedure with the remaining chicken.
Step #4
After that, you’ve to take a bowl, and combine the sugar, ketchup, cider vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic powder. Pour this sauce over the top of your chicken.
Step #5
Lastly bake the chicken for about one hour, stirring every fifteen minutes, and then this Sweet and Sour Chicken serve over prepared rice.
